My name is Steve Vawter, and I have been an avid hunter since the age of three, learning the ways of the field alongside my father. As lifelong church members, my wife Erin and I found our home church in McKinney, Texas in December of 2024. We were inspired by an incredible pastoral team and a call from the Lord to serve more. We recognized the importance of sharing the Gospel in a world full of darkness—especially for our two young daughters. I believe there is no better way to share the love of Jesus Christ than through the outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or sitting around a campfire—while also teaching others the basics of hunting, fishing, and outdoor life. In the fall of 2025, our family experienced a moment we will never forget. On a hunt together, we watched our then 11-year-old daughter harvest a trophy Blackbuck, and more importantly, accept Jesus into her heart. We hunted, we laughed, and we cried. There is something truly special about witnessing your child take a leap of faith and choose to walk with Christ.

Just a few weeks later, she publicly declared that decision at church with her youth pastor by her side through baptism, symbolizing a new life in Him. Being part of that moment deepened something in us, a calling to share both our faith and the outdoors with others.

If we can introduce even one person to Jesus through the beauty of the outdoors, then our mission is a success.
